Join IIDA Kansas City and Bentley for a fun happy hour and tour of the new Populous headquarters.

Enjoy heavy hors d'eouvres + beverages and networking during happy hour.  Preceding the tour, Todd van der Kruik, President of Design for Bentely, will give an informative presentation about Bentley and their products.  Immediately following the presentation, Amy Stortz Miller, lead designer for Populous' new office space, will host the guided tour.  Below, is more information on our two presenters.

Amy Stortz Miller, IIDA, is an award-winning Interior Designer and Senior Associate at Populous.   With 15 years of practicing architecture and interior design in Washington D.C. and Kansas City, she has experienced a wide range of project types at various scales.  This experience is highlighted by notable high-end hospitality work and sports facilities. 

Amy’s work has been recognized in publications including Interior Design Magazine, Retail Environments Magazine and ArchitectureDC Magazine and has won awards from organizations like AIA DC, IES, and the Association for Retail Environments. At Populous, Amy is a designer responsible for all phases of interior and architectural design from inception to completion. A passionate and comprehensive approach to her work results in singular design solutions that reinforce the client’s message and create memorable experiences for patrons. 

Amy received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas and is an active member of both IIDA and AIA.  She holds NCIDQ certification and is a licensed interior designer in the District of Columbia. 


Todd van der Kruik serves as vice president of design for Bentley Mills. He returned to the brand in December 2012. An award-winning product designer, Todd has a worked in the carpet industry for more than a decade. At Bentley, he is responsible for leading a team of talented designers, developing new products and collections, and helping to propel the brand forward to the forefront of design. Prior to his current position, he held leadership positions with Antron and Milliken Contract, as well as senior design positions with both Tandus and Bentley Prince Street. Raised in Southern California, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art at The University of California, Irvine. He currently resides in Long Beach, California with his wife and two children.
