Material Science is fascinating and thought provoking. Vinyl in Design is an outreach and education program provided by The Vinyl Institute, Inc. to familiarize architects and designers with the range of solutions vinyl provides for today’s design challenges. This is a materials class and not application specific. Our objective is to educate design professionals about all aspects of a common and widely accepted material which is used in many building applications. The use of plastics in building and construction is on the rise. Vinyl is the largest plastic in building and construction. Since every project is likely to contain at least some vinyl, it is important to learn about this essential material.
